This Giant buck was shot  in southeast Nebraska by  a Texas hunter.  I  don’t  know  the  whole  story on the  hunt  but  I can tell you  he told me  it  was shot  without a  fence in site.  He told me  the  buck  netted 281 5/8  and  said it  might  be  more  once the  final measurement is made.  I may never photograph a  buck this  big, but it  was  a site  just  to  hold it.

I have only seen one deer even close to this in 1988 on highway 16 south of San Antonio on the way to Freer’s Hilton on the Walker Ranch. It was super cold and around 3 am, the deer were everywhere. Unique trophy to say the least.

Good buck, there is a full story on the front page of the Giddings paper this week about his trip. JJ
