The Old Red and White

This Red and White, in McCook, Texas, has been around for years and is having a hard time staying in business through these tough economic times. I first stepped into this store as a twelve year old headed to the deer lease in Hebbronville, Tx. My Dad and I stopped in for some food and I was amazed at the rattlesnakes on the wall. Guess what? They are still there. The Pilarzik’s have been running this old store since Lucian opened it around 1949 or so. I hear that he had one arm and was one heck of a hunter. Many of the mounts that hang on the wall came from him. If you live in South Texas or nearby, drop in and say hi and don’t forget to buy something. The Red and White could use the business.
